Barry,
It has been just over 2 days exactly since I sent my last e-mail and I have
gotten no response to it. I am sending this for a 2nd time in case you did not
get the last one. In addition, I am adding all of the 22 issues we have with the
machine.
We have found 22 issues with the Flintstones Pinball that we won in the
following Ebay Auction: Item # 1089240057. In fact, it is looking like the
machine we got is not the same machine in the pictures and I will tell you why.
The machine you have in the pictures had the score cards, had silver legs with
silver leg bolts, has a red "ball shooter button," was drilled for a lock bar
and still has the lock bar bolt on the right side of the coin door in it, and
the correct plastic of an animal character that moves next to the left ramp.
The machine we got does not have the score cards, had spray painted gold legs
with black Data East head bolts, a white "ball shooter button," was never
drilled for a lock bar, and does not have the correct plastic of an animal
character that moves next to the left ramp, but rather a white plastic.
There are also numerous other problems with the machine. There are countless
wires cut and tapped inside of the machine, telling us that you got it from
overseas, which should have been noted in the auction. The coin door on it
accepts Yen. The machine wouldn't play when we got it unwrapped, but with a
little work we did get it to play. There are numerous functions on the machine
that do not work. The cabinet has had Bondo put on it and covered with black
paint in at least 2 places, which certainly should have been noted.
These are your exact words from the auction, which I am copying and pasting:
"MACHINE IS IN SUPER CONDITION" "EXTERIOR IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT" "THE GAME PLAYS
FANTASTIC."
This machine we received is far from Super condition and the exterior is far
from Great, especially with Bondo having been used on it. Again the game does
not play fantastic, as did not play at all until we did a little work to it. We
have been in the business for over 20 years and this pinball is not even in the
same League as our other machines that we use on routes, rentals, leases, and
occasionally sell.
Here are the 22 issues we have with the machine.
1) The right rear leg bolt is broken off in the base.
2) Not original ball launch button, which was with the machine in the pictures.
3) There is a broken pop bumper base.
4) No pricing or instruction cards, which were with the machine in the pictures.
5) The right flipper is weak
6) Bondo used on the right rear bottom side of the cabinet in 2 places.
7) Bondo used on the right rear bottom of the head.
8) Gauges on the head.
9) Steel plate is missing on the line cord.
10) The line cord is no good, missing the ground lug.
11) No American Coin Mechs.
12) No American Reject Buttons.
13) The rear ball pop-up assembly is defective.
14) Mircroswitch form missing on the right ramp.
15) There are 3 transformers in the cabinet.
16) Power driver board has been modified - CAPS mounted to the head.
17) No manual.
18) Missing "yellow bird" plastic character on left side of "welcome to bedrock"
ramp.
19) The legs are not original and have been spray painted gold.
20) The clear plastic is missing on the spinner assembly.
21) The locking assembly on the head is missing bolts.
22) Black Data East bolts for this Williams pinball's leg bolts.
We are going to need to have this made right in 1 of 2 ways. This machine isn't
worth the $1279 we gave for it, but more like $879. We would like to receive the
difference in our estimation of the worth and the final price. The other option
is for us to be refunded the $1279 we gave for the machine, having you pay for
the shipping back to you using ABF, and both of us will be out $200 for
shipping. We would prefer to just send the machine back to you and be out $200
rather than keep it.
If you would like to talk about this with us on the phone, please feel free to
call us at (512)835-0237, ask for Bob, or we can call you if you would e-mail us
your phone number. We are hoping to resolve this problem in a quick and timely
manner.
